The Alps

Mount Viso  Alps  Alps 2  Mount Viso 2

Torino is surrounded by the French and Swiss Alps, which creates some fantastic views from all over the city through out the day. The color of the sky varies a tremendous amount through out the day, from an extremely light blue to rich red and purple.  Absolutely gorgeous. The mountain peak you can see in the top left and bottom right photo is Monte Viso the tallest of the Cottian Alps, measuring in at a staggering 3,841 meters (12,601 ft).

So delicious…

Can’t get enough of these delicious desserts. Crepes are the bomb. This one is a scrumptious concoction of sugar, cream and almonds.. Sounds weird, but it tastes soo good. I’m going to miss the Parisian desserts!!

Chateau de Vincennes

Chateau de Vincennes

A huge medieval castle in the outskirts of Paris! Originally a 13th century hunting lodge constructed for Louis VII. At the time of it’s construction, the castle was surrounded by thick forests. It’s hard to imagine that a castle located in one of Europes largest cities was once engulfed by a dense forest. A very obscure thing to think about. Anyhow, the castle is  simply astonishing with respect to its size. For being constructed in the 13th century, it is truly a masterpiece!!

The Louvre

The Louve  The Louve 2

One of the worlds greatest galleries! I think it looks pretty awesome, especially at night! When the Glass Pyramid was first built, people found it far to radical and believed it would not “fit in” with the surrounding medieval fortress. But I guess they were wrong because the Louvre has become the most visited art museum in the world! The inside is magnificently huge!  I couldn’t find the gallery at first, it’s like a shopping mall down there! There’s a bunch of stores, restaurants, and even a post office. The gallery is divided into three different wings. I only had the time to visit one wing, so I’ll have to come back to see the Mona Lisa!

Arch de Triomphe

Arch de Triumph

The Arch de Triomphe is a popular monuments in Paris. It commemorates the lives of those who fought and died during the Napoleonic wars and French Revolution. It’s really big and has detailed carvings on all sides. Like the rest of Paris, it looks gorgeous at night!
