There’s no better age to be in Ireland than 18!! Although the Guinness in Ireland is delicious, it’s far to rich for my liking. Thankfully there is some great German & Dutch lagers!

No Irish game would be complete without a band of bag-pipers and drummers rolling in for half time! Although they look very authentic, I think it would be best if they left wearing skirts to the school girls…

My First Gaelic Football Game!

 

The Gaelic Football Finals for County Louth! The Brides from Knockbridge (Red) played the Geraldines from Haggardstown (Green)! The game was a blow-out. The Geraldines won 15 to 5. Here you can see the Geraldines scoring against the Brides! The ball is in the middle of the field goal!!

Castletown River

Major river cutting through Dundalk. The river feeds into the Irish Sea at the Dundalk Bay. Took a photo on the Toberona Bridge looking over the water!

 

Old-School Chilling

 

Spent the evening with my Grandfather and Granduncles watching Rugby at the Century Pub. Also learned quite a bit about the game of Rugby! Although the game is completely foreign to me, it’s a very exciting sport to watch!

An absolutely stunning place to be in the evening. Although the beaches in Ireland aren’t refined and groomed like the stereotypical beaches of America, the beach itself is still remarkably beautiful. If you look really closely you can see a small building in the distance. This is a “Coastguard Watch Building” erected in 1823 in order to crack down on smugglers utilizing the beach.

Gyles Quay

A beautiful beach/park in County Louth! Due to the large easily accessible coast line, the beach became a popular spot for smugglers to import wine and tobacco during the 1800’s. More recently these areas have become a popular destination for campers and beach enthusiasts!
